Introduction to Sender Authorization

Sender authorization is the process of confirming to recipient mail servers that you have the right to send emails from your domain (e.g., yourcompany.com). It is an absolutely fundamental element of ensuring the security and deliverability of your communication.
Sender Authorization is a key feature in the EmailLabs panel that allows you to secure your account from unauthorized mailings and increase the credibility of your sent messages. With this feature, you can sign your emails with a DKIM key and configure additional options such as a dedicated Return Path, Whitelabel for links, and DMARC.
Why is sender authorization so important?
Protection against spoofing and phishing: Proper authorization makes it significantly harder for cybercriminals to send fake emails on behalf of your brand, thus protecting your customers and company reputation.
Building trust and reputation: Mail servers (like Gmail, Outlook) verify whether the sender is authenticated. A positive verification builds your reputation as a trusted sender.
Higher deliverability: A good sender reputation is one of the key factors that determine whether your emails land in the main inbox or are rejected or marked as spam.
The sender authorization process relies on several key, complementary standards like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, which are discussed in the following subsections.
